I'm sitting here drinking somewhere between my 8th and 10th beer, writing a blog, on the internet. and i realize, fifteen years ago I didn't have any of these things. The Blog and the Internet because they didn't exist yet, and the beer because i was only thirteen. I have noticed a lot of talk among people about what happens when the oil runs out. America is currently dependent on foreign oil because we won't drill in our own backyards. That, in addition to a crippling blow to our refineries due to Hurricane Katrina, has led to higher gas prices. Whatever, this is America, if gas prices go up i can drive less or work more, regardless, i still have a choice in the matter. What bothers me is that everyone seems to be scared of what happens when the oil runs out. Well i say "Fuck You" This is America. We're going to use all the oil, and when it's gone, we'll come up with something new. Probably something even better. Our forefathers cut this country out of brutal wilderness. We shame their sacrifice by bitching about how much gas costs. Like i said, fifteen years ago we didn't have internet, or cell phones. Now i get badass internet on my cell phone. So why should i believe that the will to be great in the youngest, and greatest country in the world, won't be able to develop a new energy source as soon as our backs are against the wall. That's what Americans do.
